Your First Visit

Your first consultation visit to our office will be an opportunity for you to meet us. During that visit, Dr. Robinson and staff will examine your teeth, bite, and smile to discuss how orthodontics may be of benefit to you.

Also we will answer the most commonly asked questions:

  • How will orthodontics improve my dental problem?
  • What will treatment involve?
  • Should I start treatment now, or wait until a later date?
  • Will any permanent teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • What is the cost for treatment?

At the conclusion of your visit, a staff member will briefly explain the cost of treatment, verify your insurance coverage and discuss our payment plan options that are available.  If you have insurance with orthodontic coverage, we ask that you bring your insurance card (information) with you.  We encourage you to ask any questions you may have during that visit.

What happens after your consultation visit?

1)  Records Appointment:  You next appointment will be for us to take orthodontic records to determine a customized treatment plan for you. Also, you will view a video presentation that will give you more information about your orthodontic treatment.  This appointment generally takes about an hour.

2)  Appliance Placement Appointment:  After your records appointment, you are ready to have your new orthodontic appliances placed on your teeth. This appointment generally take one and a half hours.  After your appliances have been placed on your teeth, you will visit our office every four to eight weeks for follow-up and appliance adjustments. When scheduling your appointments, please let us know what days and times work best for you.

You are on your way to achieving the smile you've always wanted!

Visiting your family dentisit during orthodontic treatment:

It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups.  If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.
